New Song's Mission
To invite all to know Christ, celebrate God's presence, and be Christ's body in the world.

Jana Andrews, Church Administrator

Jana AndrewsJana Andrews accepted the position of Church Administrator for New Song after searching for a meaningful part-time job following her decision to stay home more with her son. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Iowa, she worked for eleven years for Heitman Properties, the owners of Old Capitol Mall in Iowa City as well as hundreds of other properties across the country. As Property Accountant for the mall, and later for the IDS Center in Minneapolis, she enjoyed the challenge of real estate management and accounting, and became a Senior Financial Analyst with opportunities for travel, procedure manual preparation, training responsibilities, and new property lease evaluations.

The next happy challenge, though, proved to be strong enough to draw her away from the full-time work world — motherhood! The luxury of being able to spend time with her son from age 9 months on has been much appreciated and a joy. Working part-time at banks after leaving Heitman, however, was unrewarding. What a wonderful turn of events when Elizabeth called to offer the position at New Song! Like her predecessor Ann Hulme, Jana feels her responsibilities at the church are a ministry, not just a job. Keeping the administrative end of things running as smoothly as possible so New Songers can concentrate on doing God's work is the focus of that ministry, along with acting as "goodwill ambassador" in dealings with those in contact with the church office. Working with such talented, sincere, and dedicated people as are found in the New Song family has been a rewarding experience and a privilege.

Her office hours are

Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30 am to 6:30 p.m.
Telephone presence Thursday 8:30 am to 12:30 p.m.
