What
is EFM? When we are baptized each of us is called to active
participation in Christ's ministry and in the church's total ministry.
When we are confirmed or received into the Episcopal church we
ask God to "Renew in these your servants the covenant you
made with them at Baptism. Send them forth in the power of the
Spirit to perform the service you set before them." The
Education for
Ministry (EFM) program provides people with the opportunity
to discover how to respond to the call to Christian ministry and
to carry out their ministries.
Details:
EFM is a four-year program developed by the University of
the South. The program combines study of scripture, church history,
and theology with prayer and theological reflection. Participants
commit one year at a time to meet regularly in seminars led by
a trained mentor. Each seminar group consists of six to twelve
students and at least one mentor who leads and facilitates.
Locally....
