A
bit about Deb: Singing has always been a part of her life. She began
performing at the age of four with her family and by the age of twelve
she taught herself to play guitar, began writing her own music and formed
her first band. Throughout her teens and twenties, Deb continued to perform
in the Midwest. In 1989, she moved to Washington, DC where she successfully
auditioned for the Oratorio Society of Washington, a nationally recognized
choral group, and also appeared as a solo, acoustic performer in several
DC area clubs. In 1991 she was a featured artist at the Annual Kennedy
Center Open House and at Lammas Bookstore's Women's Music Concert Series.
Since returning to Iowa in 1992, she has made regular appearances at Prairie
Voices’ annual Women’s Music Festival and a 2001 appearance at SisterSpace
Weekend near Baltimore, Maryland.

Elizabeth Coulter writes: "Not long
before Christmas I heard about Deb’s new CD, 'Muse.' I quickly ordered
it and was taken to Deb’s magic voice again. I am so clear this voice
and talent needs to continue to be heard, and as we talked one eve she
told of longing for just the right local venue. And then magic! New Song
Church has moved into a new building with incredible acoustics. She came
to try them out. 'Good,' she said. We went for Chinese lunch. The fortune
cookie said, 'Grand adventures await those who are willing to turn the
corner.' That did it! The plan was made."
