New Song's Mission
To invite all to know Christ, celebrate God's presence, and be Christ's body in the world.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

WHO: Anyone at New Song who is interested, and flyers will be posted around the community as well. Tara Dutcher will be there each time , but others can come and go as they please - no commitment required.

Second Monday of the Month

7-8:30 pm

WHAT: A time of prayerful reflection and meditation spent together knitting prayer shawls for ourselves, for people in discernment, for our Lantern Park Ministry, for others in need, etc. In the spirit of self-care, the first prayer shawl each person knits is recommended to be for themselves to keep and use.

WHEN: Second Monday of the Month, 7-8:30 pm

WHERE:
• Second Monday of the month: New Song Episcopal Church, 912 20th Avenue, Coralville, Iowa
• On the second Sunday of every month: Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City.

WHY: To find some meditative space within our weeks, to provide a sense of spiritual focus, to support our other ministries.

HOW: Knitting is easy. Tara is a beginner herself, but, she says, this is such an easy project and the act of knitting is wonderfully centering. No experience required.
