New Song Stories

New Song was the first new Episcopal Church in Iowa in over 20 years when it began in 1994. After telephoning over 42,000 households to invite them to this new church start, New Song held its first service on October 4, 1994.

New Song's services were held at the Westfield (now Ramada) Inn on Highway 965 for the first eight months. The church then moved to Millennium Plaza next to the Dairy Queen "on the strip" in 1995.

In 2001, New Song purchased the former Community Christian Church at 912 20th Avenue in Coralville and invested many hours of sweat equity in cleaning and remodeling the facility. New Songers are pleased to have a home of their own and look forward to continued growth in the 20th Avenue location.
